Role Overview

We are looking for talented, hands-on test-engineers to join our dynamic team of development engineers and scientists.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and execution of tests of fuel cell systems, hydrogen systems and their associated subsystems and components, from development testing, through to verification and validation, as well as certification tests.
  • Planning, design of required test rigs, including sensor and data acquisition, as well as test specific features, like power take-off, torque take-up, heat rejection, etc.
  • Working closely with suppliers, contractors, and partners to procure, build and commission test rigs on time and on quality.
  • Take ownership of component and subsystem testing
  • Work closely with system engineers and design engineers to define testing requirements.
  • Work closely with external suppliers and partners to define external testing requirements of components and subsystems.
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of the requirements and methods for showing compliance to certification standards.
  • Support air-vehicle-level integration and tests
  • Exercise critical thinking and innovative problem solving
  • Accredited Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering, or similar qualification.
  • Experience and knowledge in data acquisition software and data processing (e.g., Matlab, Labview, PCan Explorer)
  • Experience in component and subsystem testing.
  • Experience in commissioning and managing component and subsystem test rigs.
  • Experience in using CAD design software (Solidworks)
  • Industrial experience ideally gained in a fuel cell/battery company, automotive, aerospace or similar industry.
  • Experience in working with and testing compressed gas systems and components.
  • Experience and understanding of PEM Fuel cell systems for mobile applications.
  • Experience in characterization, verification and testing of fuel cell system components.
  • Knowledge and understanding of PEM fuel cell stack operating conditions, stack testing and characterization.
  • Experience and knowledge in testing requirements for High Voltage systems as part of PEM fuel cell systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with pressurised gas systems.
  • Experience of working with high voltage systems.
  • Engineering Software programming knowledge (MATLAB Simulink, Python)
  • Aerospace experience with regards to certification, airworthiness, and standards (DO160G)
