ZeroAvia is currently looking for an experienced and highly analytical Senior Quality and Process Engineer, QPAE with a background in Aircraft Systems or Aircraft Design and Certification.
You will join us at a crucial time as we deliver further improvements as part of our Quality Function. You will drive a positive and sustainable cultural change to focus on Quality and Safety.
In this key role you will take a proactive approach to right first-time quality to promote growth, supporting the development of our prototype-level hardware and future production propulsion systems allowing us to fulfil our needs, quickly anticipate and respond to market changes and equip our engineers with ground-breaking solutions.
You will be reporting to the Head of Global Quality, supporting the company on Quality Assurance, Process Assurance including the management of design and manufacturing suppliers’ qualifications and their development.
This position will work closely with the design and operations teams from supporting the implementation of an aerospace culture internally to the development of the necessary supply chain with incoming inspections, FAI’s. Would also assist with QMS assignments as investigations, non-conformity management and audits execution.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of Aerospace regulations Part 21, Part 145, PC at FAA level.
- Working knowledge of safety critical standards ARP-4754B, ARP-4761, DO-254 and DO-178C as quality and process assurance.
- Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9145 quality standards. Guides associates in following ZA’s Quality Management System.
- Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards.
- Ensures all activities, processes and plans are carried out to the highest quality and accuracy standards.
- Providing guidance and support on all matters relating to quality assurance, process assurance, certification activities.
- Review of ZA and supplier design artefacts to ensure development gate reviews and ZA, customer and regulatory requirements.
- Perform and report internal and external audits.
- Actively participates in root cause analysis on product failures and nonconformances. Tracks supplier response to deliverable milestones, evaluate supplier response, provide feedback to supplier, and ensure closure of 8D.
- Evaluates potential suppliers by conducting a desktop on-line assessment audit and process capability assessments.
- Evaluating program new award supplier’s PFMEA, Control plan, PPAP to confirm that key characteristics and in process controls are well defined and effective.
- The ability to perform first article inspections in accordance with AS9102, as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Quality and Process Engineering or working in Engineering and development environments required.
- Experience in aerospace systems design and certification ARP’s and DO’s: 2 years (Preferred)
- Six Sigma or Op-Ex experience (Preferred)
- Quality audits: 3 years (Preferred)
- Proven ability to effectively lead cross functional teams and perform root cause analysis.
- Lead Auditor or Quality Auditor Certification (CQA) (Preferred)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) (Preferred)
License/Certification
- Supplier Auditing and/or ASQ Auditor Certification (Preferred)
- Six Sigma Certification (Preferred)
- Lead Auditor or Quality Auditor Certification (CQA) (Preferred)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) (Preferred)
The wage scale or salary range for this position is between $100,000 - $140,000. In addition to the foregoing base compensation, additional compensation and benefits are available to employees and eligible family members (as applicable) including the following:
