"The culture at ZeroAvia is fast-paced, ever changing, and very close-knit."
I wanted to work at the forefront of innovation, to know that the work I do will make a difference to the world and to see it happen in my lifetime not in the years after I am gone. I wanted to see it now and I do.
The culture at ZeroAvia is fast-paced, ever changing, and very close-knit. We know that without all of our contributions we cannot make zero emission flight a reality, every single one of us plays a huge role in making ZeroAvia what it is.
I am developing the high-powered gas diffusion electrode (GDE) for the high temperature polymer electrolyte membrane (HTPEM) fuel cells in our megawatt-class systems. The electrode plays a critical role in the electrochemical performance within the membrane electrode assembly (MEA) in hydrogen fuel cells, helping to deliver more power, less weight, and enhanced mass transport within the cell.
ZeroAvia has a great early careers programme, from graduates to interns, and to those new to aviation. They care about their employees’ progression through the company, with a clearly defined career path and support for you to develop and grow your skills, whichever path you choose to follow.
Every day is different from the day before, one day you could be working with the materials team, and supporting the engineering team the next. You get to work with a diverse cohort of people, from different backgrounds, experiences and skill sets. You’re always learning and developing yourself as your work. When you work at the forefront of a new technology, you have to be able to adapt and grow to meet the challenges it throws at you, and that is exciting.
I would say it has to be, getting our first in-house electrode on test in a fully functioning fuel cell. It was a big milestone for our team, and the culmination of a lot of hard work and development.
