The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering projects by providing technical assistance and ensuring the smooth operation of various engineering systems. The Engineering Technician will collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to contribute to the successful implementation of projects and the maintenance of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on technical support for engineering projects, including the assembly, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Conduct testing and analysis of components and systems to ensure functionality and adherence to project specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of engineering equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions, collaborating with the maintenance team as needed.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and testing procedures.
- Prepare comprehensive reports documenting findings, test results, and recommendations for improvement.
- Work closely with engineers and other team members to implement design changes and improvements based on project requirements.
- Assist in the development of prototypes and the testing of new technologies.
- Adhere to safety protocols and standards in all engineering activities.
- Identify potential safety hazards and take corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct inspections to ensure the quality of components and systems meets established standards.
- Assist in the implementation of quality control processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Experience (2+ years) working with electrical systems, ideally in the aviation or aerospace sectors.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Technician or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to test locations as required.
The wage scale or salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $105,000. In addition to the foregoing base compensation, additional compensation and benefits are available to employees and eligible family members (as applicable) including the following:
- Equity: Ability to exercise company stock options
- Retirement: Eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) Plan, with up to a 4% matching
- Health Insurance: Employer covers up to 80% of the employee's monthly premiums on medical, dental, and vision.
- Life Insurance: Basic Life/AD&D of up to $50,000 and the option to add on Supplemental Coverage.
- Short-Term Disability: Up to 60% of your earnings for up to a period of 24 weeks.
- Long-Term Disability: If your disability extends beyond 180 days, LTD Coverage for up to 60% of your earnings.
- Paid Time Off: Eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours per year (15 days) and may borrow up to 40 hours (5 days).
- Sick Time: Eligible employees may accrue up to 40 hours, per year (5 days)
- Paid Holidays: 12 observed holidays, per calendar year.
- The Fly Club: up to $2,000 of reimbursement towards flying lessons to all full-time staff
