As we are a start-up, I liked the potential opportunities for me to grow professionally that I wouldn't get in a fully established company. The fact that there were no HR systems and processes in place before I joined would allow me to build the HR function from scratch, which was an exciting opportunity for me and something I have never even come close to before.
The culture here is one of enthusiasm and excitement. What the company is working to build is so innovative and full of exciting opportunities, you can feel the enthusiasm around the office and hangar. Everyone is also really friendly and always willing to help others learn about what they are working on.
My role is to support employees within ZeroAvia with benefits planning, payroll functions, training, and performance to enable employees to be as successful as they can within their careers.
There are so many learning opportunities for me at ZeroAvia. As the company is a start-up, I am being given the opportunity to learn to build processes and systems from scratch. My manager is continually upskilling me into more senior roles as the capacity for them becomes available. There is so much on-the-job learning that I am provided with.

While it has changed and adapted a lot since it was first launched, the onboarding/induction welcome that I created last February was a huge success with fantastic feedback. Having previously never created anything like that from scratch, this was a really exciting project that I am really proud of.
