Head of Electrical Design

  • Kemble, UK
  • Engineering

At ZeroAvia, we’re clean sky thinkers. For the world to achieve truly clean, guilt-free flight, we need a scalable solution; hydrogen-electric powertrains. As a leader in zero-emission aviation and a UK Jet Zero Council member, we’re designing and commercialising hydrogen-powered solutions that will positively impact the future of aviation, global connectivity, and the world.

Engineering designs our next-generation hydrogen electric engines. Working across Hydrogen, Propulsion and Integration divisions, they solve technical problems and help decarbonize aviation by finding solutions for electric propulsion, hydrogen storage, fuel cell technology, power distribution, thermal management and more.

Join us at Cotswold Airport, home to some of our aircraft and the workplace of many ZeroAvians. Located just outside the historic market town of Cirencester, you’ll experience a workspace built by engineers for engineers. This is a high-velocity and fast-paced environment with good links to the M4 and M5, so it’s fitting that it’s also our UK Head Office.

As our Head of Electrical Design, you will lead the Electrical Design department within the Engineering Sector in the Aircraft Engineering and Integration Division. Line managing the department ensuring all skills needed in the organization and projects are available, human resources trained and prepared for electrical design duties for hydrogen-electric components’ development, system development and aircraft installation tasks.

Own responsibility for electrical design of Electrical Propulsion and Power Distribution, on top of the whole engine Power Distribution System. Own accountability for the whole project phase, from definition of requirements, selection of suppliers or internal design definition, design reviews, manufacturing, installation, testing and delivery.
  • Guide the Electrical Design team from present prototype and demonstrator competence to a more Centre of Competence oriented establishment, and from prototyping and testing to product development
  • Become the single reference point of contact as manager for all Electrical Design topics within the ZeroAvia organization (all projects and divisions) with internal stakeholders (Head of Engineering, Program Managers, Chief Engineers) and external stakeholders (Civil Aviation, etc.)
