The Maintenance Manager will control all aspects of modification, integration and maintenance of prototype and test aircraft incorporating ZeroAvia’s novel hydrogen fuel cell powertrain through means of delegation of tasks to the installation team. This will be in conjunction with the deputy installation manager and maintenance manager/head of systems installation.

Day to Day administration of staff

Have an active role in aircraft installations/maintenance

Overseeing installation and maintenance work on aircraft and ground test rigs

Control and standards of performance of the installation department

Assist with planning installations and maintenance activities

Manage company stakeholders' enquires from end-to-end providing regular feedback

Ensure installation and aircraft documentation is completed in accordance with the company

Procedures

Control the use of overtime and lieu time

Assist in audits of the hangar and facilities in accordance with company procedures

Oversee the allocation of installation staff to cover installation and maintenance activities which may include off-site support

Regular meet with the deputy installation manager and maintenance manager/head of systems installation.

Additional Responsibilities

Ensure the effective completion of any delegated tasks are done in accordance with the company procedures

Ensure sufficient staff of the correct trade and certification are present to complete the required work

Ensure allocated tasks are completed within the allotted time scales

Ensure tasks are being completed and being staged correctly onto the worksheets

Health And Safety Responsibilities

Ensure that the staff are working to the required Health and Safety as required at the time of the work being carried out i.e. use of bump caps inside the cabin, safety goggles, safety harnesses etc.

Ensure that the highest standards of housekeeping in the hangar and office space are always maintained.

Act as a proactive safety champion and promote/enforce safety in the workplace

People Management

Promote an open and just reporting culture for items of safety

Ensure staff adhere to their contracted working hours and start times

Carry out Personal Development Reviews (1 to 1’s and performance check in’s) of the aircraft installation engineers, and other members of staff as required.

Certification and Legal Responsibilities

Be conversant with the Company Procedures and have a good understanding of their content and work

within the boundaries of the procedures and scope of approvals

Ensure all work carried out by staff under their supervision complies with the Regulatory Authority and

Company Procedures in force at the time of the work carried out

Ensure personal tool checks are complete at the start and end of each day

Essential

Degree educated in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (or other similar discipline)

At least 5 years experience of in relevant aircraft component installation or maintenance (powertrains and engines )

Type rating for light aircraft under Part 23/25 (both single and dual engine)

Developed understanding of EASA CS-23/25 and other relevant regulations provided by the CAA/EASA and FAA

Experience working on the development of new aircraft or major modification projects

Ability to modify parts using tools or in the machine shop

Demonstrated ability to work standalone

Proactive communication of the issues

Good communication skills

Demonstrable problem-solving skills

Strong stakeholder management skills

Ability to adapt to issues as they arise and provide solutions

Experience leading a small team in installation and maintenance projects

Skilled in a range of IT and software packages to draw and read schematics (CAD package knowledge is a plus)

Flexible approach to work and a high level of drive and ambition to help achieve the organisations goals

A genuine passion for clean technology and the future of electric aviation

Preferred

A valid B1 or B2 License

Type rating for light aircraft under Part 23/25 (both single and dual engine)

Former Form 4 holders are preferable
